TAIDO is a modern Japanese martial art which was developed by Kenji Hayashi from the AIKIDO and other Asian movement forms.
The traditional Japanese martial arts which were developed from the war and defence techniques have lost their meaning as a battle technique in the course of the time. They have become a way to conquer yourself! That´s why high masters rather speak of a martial art of harmony and love.
Going out from a good posture we try to take up this thought bringing body and spirit in consonance. To the mediation of these training aims we also use next floor, sword, throw and lever techniques exercises from the Sotaiho and Zen imagery exercises according to Masunaga.
With these exercises we experience a condition with which the body could be centred in its main point in the lower abdomen, so a clear axis could be developed to itself. At the same moment a deep respiration will arise. This basic posture is called " Shizen Tai "; it is the aim of the TAIDO training.
An original force appears in the movements from the Shizen Tai. In the origin the attraction and the repulsion exists equally. So the energy of the partner is neutralized by the harmonious, round movements instead of either blocking it as usual, or to surrender to it.
